Pharmaceuticals in the environment are a growing problem. The UBA Internet portal "Human Medicinal Products and the Environment" offers freely available, scientifically proven teaching materials for medical and pharmaceutical lecturers. With the basic set of slides and the accompanying texts, the topic can be taught comprehensively and practically despite tight curricula.
Pharmaceuticals in the environment are not only an increasingly common topic in politics and the media, but are also becoming more and more prevalent in pharmaceutical and medical teaching. The problem for lecturers, however, is that there is often a lack of time to deal with and present the topic in an appealing way during the tightly scheduled training or studies. This is where the Federal Environment Agency comes in with this basic set of slides and the accompanying texts for lecturers in education, training, further education and studies and provides freely available, editable and scientifically tested materials.
The basic slide set is suitable for medical and pharmaceutical lecturers. It contains a general introduction to the topic as well as subject-specific solutions along the pharmaceutical life cycle and into everyday practice and pharmacy. Specifically, the basic slide set covers a range of topics from the social handling of pharmaceuticals to entry pathways, the occurrence and effects of pharmaceuticals in the environment, measures to prevent entry and an introduction to the discussion.
The aim is to reduce the time required by lecturers by explaining the individual slides in the accompanying texts and providing links to further in-depth content. Depending on the area of application and audience, users are free to modify the slides and remove or add content, citing the source.
