Umweltbundesamt 2024: Der Umwelt zuliebe: Hausmüll statt Glascontainer. Card. Online: uba.de/hmp

Liquid pharmaceutical leftovers are more often disposed of incorrectly in waste water than solid ones. For this reason, a German-language postcard in DIN A6 (10 x 15 cm) has been developed on this topic, which can be given to customers when liquid medicines are dispensed in the pharmacy. The back of the postcard explains that liquid medication residues must be disposed of together with their container and that recycling the container (e.g. bottle, ampoule) is of secondary importance.

The card is part of the UBA portal "Human Pharmaceuticals and the Environment"

The card can be downloaded and ordered from the German Environment Agency's website.

This card explains to customers how to correctly dispose of leftover liquid pharmaceuticals together with their containers – recycling takes a back seat.
