A team at Ecologic Institute has produced new best-practice guidelines for co-creating research. The guidelines are based on experiences gathered in the Horizon 2020 project COACCH (Co-designing the Assessment of Climate Change Costs). The authors summarise an in-depth evaluation carried out over the four-year collaborative research process. Based on this evaluation, the Ecologic Institute team highlights lessons learned and proposes step-by-step guidelines for best-practice in co-creation.

Insights from the Horizon 2020 EU project COACCH

As a part of its co-design process, the COACCH project organized a series of interactive stakeholder workshops to discuss research objectives, activities, and outputs. The first three co-design workshops between 2018 and 2020 produced key insights to guide the COACCH project. In this fourth and final workshop, held on 9 and 10 September 2021, the project team presented their concluding research findings and together reviewed the final outputs to be produced. More than 40 participants from eight European countries joined the workshop.

The third interactive COACCH workshop was held on 3 and 4 December 2020 in a virtual format. More than 40 participants from nine European countries joined the workshop, representing all four COACCH working groups: policy makers, investors, business and industry, research and civil society.
