Industry is one of ECNO's cross-cutting building blocks. In its economy-wide assessment of progress towards net zero, ECNO found that progress in the industrial sector has been far too slow. In an upcoming briefing, ECNO takes a deep dive into blind spots and enablers on the path to an EU net zero industry.
In this webinar, ECNO invites stakeholders to reflect on the changes in approach to industrial transition that have been taking place over the last year. The guests will also discuss what they expect from the EU industrial policy delivered by the next European Commission and exchange their opinions about the policy instruments which they believe the European industry needs to deliver EU climate goals on time.

Background
A year after the publication of the Net Zero Industry Act proposal, and ahead of the European Parliament elections in June 2024, questions about past progress and the outlook for transition in the traditional industrial sectors increasingly come into the spotlight as a key policy priority alongside developing cleantech manufacturing capacity.
ECNO’s upcoming briefing analyses the industrial sector's progress on the path to EU climate neutrality and highlights the crucial policy actions that need to be taken to facilitate the process.
