Evaluation of the European Platform for Climate Adaptation Climate-ADAPT

Project
Duration
-

The European Climate Adaptation Platform (Climate-ADAPT) is a partnership between the European Commission's Directorate-General for Climate Action (DG CLIMA) and the European Environment Agency (EEA). Its main objectives are to spread the knowledge base and experiences related to adaptation, assist uptake by decision makers, and to improve coordination among sectoral policies and governance levels.

Strengthening Europe's Climate Resilience: A Strategic Evaluation and Enhancement of Climate-ADAPT

This project is focused on assessing and improving the impact of Climate-ADAPT through an evaluation that looks both backward and forward. The primary objective of the project is to comprehensively evaluate Climate-ADAPT, including its subsites such as the European Climate and Health Observatory and the EU Mission on Adaptation Portal. The retrospective assessment will cover the period from 2018 to the end of 2023 and examine the platform's achievements up to 2024, drawing insights from recent years. At the same time, the forward-looking aspect will identify opportunities, establish pathways, and outline specific steps to enhance Climate-ADAPT's outreach, impact, and contribution to EU adaptation policy and practice.

Engaging Stakeholders and Analyzing Data for the Future of Climate-ADAPT

To gather diverse perspectives, the project team will conduct interviews tailored to different stakeholder groups. Surveys will also be carried out with both current users of Climate-ADAPT and its subsites to collect opinions on the platform's past performance and insights for its future. In addition, the project will carry out extensive data analysis of the platform website and its users.
