Ecologic Institute 2018: RECREATE Green Horizons Scoreboard. URL: https://green-horizons.eu/

For the project Research Network in Climate, Resource Efficiency and Raw Materials (RECREATE) Ecologic Institute created the RECREATE Green Horizons Scoreboard. It is a website that presents relevant indicators for tackling societal challenges in the areas of climate action, resource efficiency and raw materials. The Scoreboard provides indicators on ten different Environmental Innovation Systems, or fields of knowledge, that are of high relevance to the areas of climate action, resource efficiency and raw materials. The following innovation systems or fields of knowledge are covered:

  • Agriculture and soil sciences
  • Bioeconomy
  • Climate adaptation
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Environmental governance
  • Fossil fuel efficiency
  • Material efficiency
  • Renewable energy
  • Waste and recycling
  • Water and waste water

In addition, some preliminary information on critical raw materials is included on the website. Data is presented for up to 34 countries of the European Research Area. For each of the ten different innovation systems, or fields of knowledge, time series indicators are presented that allow the tracking and benchmarking of aspects of their performance over time and across countries. The scoreboard provides a detailed description of the development of these indicators over time and some tentative analyses of relations among these indicators. Furthermore, it allows the creation and export of high quality visual comparisons of country performance.

Ecologic Institute was responsible for the design and programming of the The RECREATE Green Horizons Scoreboard  and created an instructional video that guides the user through the functions of the Scoreboard:
