What is climate change adaptation? How can we best approach implementing it across Europe? What lessons can we learn from people already working on adaptation today? In this video from the BASE project, four young reporters from the fictional 'BASE Broadcast Studio' interview a group of 'adaptation professionals' from across Europe, to learn more.
Europe's climate is changing. This may have serious consequences for our environment, society, and economy. Fortunately, many people are already working to adapt to these changes. In this video, produced as part of the BASE project, four young reporters from the fictional 'BASE Broadcast Studio' interview a group of 'adaptation professionals' from across Europe, including a local policy maker, a practitioner, and an EU policy maker, drawing new insights from their work to learn what we can do to better adapt. By featuring existing initiatives to tackle climate change, the video aims at inspiring people and inviting them to take action.
Ecologic Institute led production of the video, which is in English, Portuguese, Czech and German, with English subtitles. It was produced as part of the EU funded project BASE (Bottom-Up Climate Adaptation Strategies Towards a Sustainable Europe). BASE supports action for sustainable climate change adaptation in Europe by making experiences and scientific information about adaptation meaningful, transferable and easily accessible to decision-makers at all levels. BASE has been funded with the assistance of the European Union.
