Dieses Buch führt in die wesentlichen Konzepte und Prinzipien ein, die für die Umsetzung eines ökosystembasierten Managements erforderlich sind, und beschreibt detailliert Werkzeuge und Techniken sowie die Anwendung dieser Konzepte und Werkzeuge auf ein breites Spektrum aquatischer Ökosysteme, von den Ufern des Lough Erne in Nordirland bis zu den Mündungen des pazifischen Nordwestens der USA und des tropischen Mekong-Deltas.
Das Buch ist eine gemeinsame Arbeit von Forschenden des Ecologic Instituts, des University College of Cork in der Republik Irland und der US-Umweltschutzbehörde. Der Band ist kostenfrei zugänglich und enthält Arbeiten aus dem H2020-Projekt AQUACROSS und wurde von Dr. Manuel Lago vom Ecologic Institut mit herausgegeben.
