The final event of the dialogue forum "Wirtschaft macht Klimaschutz" took place on 11 March 2020 at the Turbinenhalle in Berlin.

Over the past two years, representatives from more than 100 companies have jointly developed ideas, projects and concrete steps to promote climate protection in their companies. Organised in five thematic working groups, the Dialogue Forum has brought together climate protection pioneers among German companies and facilitated exchange of ideas across sector boundaries. The following results were presented at the final conference:

  • Climate-friendly supply chains
  • Circular economy
  • Company-related climate protection targets
  • Innovations for climate protection
  • Financial sector and climate protection

At the closing event, the companies presented the results of their work and discussed the experiences made the Federal Environment Minister Svenja Schulze. The written output of the working groups can be downloaded at the German project website "Wirtschaft macht Klimaschutz". See also here for the press release on the event issued by the Federal Ministry of the Environment.

With EY and the Wuppertal Institute, Ecologic Institute conceptualised and organised the Dialogue Forum, with funding from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment.

Climate protection is a driver of innovation for the German economy – and a huge opportunity for those companies willing to embrace it.
