On 10 June 2013, Dr. Stephan Sina, Senior Fellow at Ecologic Institute, spoke on the guidance of climate change policy by legislation to an expert audience from administration, business, and environmental policy in the town hall of Berlin. The presentation is available for download.
The event was organized by the Senate Department for Urban Development and the Environment in Berlin. It introduced the concept for a new Energiewende Act for Berlin. In addition to Stephan Sina’s presentation, speeches were given by State Secretary Christian Gaebler, the head of the Special Department for Climate Protection and Energy within the Senate Department Lothar Stock, and the head of the Berlin Council on Climate Protection Dr. Hans-Joachim Ziesing. The event ended with a discussion led by Prof. Dr. Bernd Hirschl from the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW).
Since 2009, Stephan Sina has worked on climate change legislation at the federal and state level, inter alia, for projects on behalf of WWF Germany and the Federal Environment Agency. He also participated in an expert workshop on possible subject matters of a Climate Change Act for Baden-Württemberg organized by the Ministry of the Environment, Climate Protection and the Energy Sector.
