The Konrad Adenauer Foundation conducted the conference "Towards new development and Sustainable Development Goals" on 5 June 2013 in Berlin. Dr. Nils Meyer-Ohlendorf, Senior Fellow, spoke at the event.

- Ulrich Post, organisation of development non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Germany (VENRO) and
- Stephan Contius, German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), participated in the event.
Speakers agreed in principle that SDGs must set priorities; if everything is a priority, nothing is a priority. The Rio summit left prioritizing to the up-coming negotiations.
