Adaptation to climate change: What does this mean in practice? Where can I find support and orientation, what good examples already exist? Answers to these questions can be found in a brochure prepared by Ecologic Institute on behalf of the Competence Centre on Climate Impacts and Adaptation (KomPass) of the German Federal Environment Agency.

The publication focuses on the documentation of selected contributions to the competition "forward-thinking change – act now: adaptation pioneers wanted!". This competition had been organized by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment and the Federal Environment Agency in cooperation with Ecologic Institute in order to identify best practices of climate change adaptation measures. It was launched together with the KomPass database for climate change adaptation measures that Ecologic Institute developed for the Federal Environment Agency.

In addition to the award winners of the competition, the brochure also presents other adaptation measures that received the jury’s particular attention. Furthermore it includes information on the Adaptation Action Plan implementing the German Strategy for Adaptation to Climate Change and on guiding principles for adaptation, as well as a collection of useful links.

The brochure [pdf, 2.2 MB, German] is available for free download.
