Event

Location
Berlin, Germany

Ecologic Institute supported the Federal Environment Agency in organising the 3rd European Resources Forum from 9 until 10 November 2016. The conference took place in the "Ludwig Erhard Haus" in Berlin. The ERF addressed European decision-makers and experts from the fields of policy development, industry, academia, civil society and the media. Around 400 participants from over 32 countries participated in the conference.

After the successful conferences in 2012, 2014 and 2016 the European Resources Forum has established itself as an important European platform for discussion on the issue of sustainable resource use by focusing on the political and scientific debate on this subject.

The ERF seeks to contribute to the development and implementation of common positions for policy-making in Europe and internationally. The ERF is an important instrument for communication on resource issues and for setting up networks and initiating stakeholder alliances at the European level.

The ERF 2016 continued the discussion of the current European approach to resource policy and worked out new impulses for a resource efficient Europe. The conference presented best practice cases and business models for the circular economy as well as European country initiatives for resource efficiency. Particular attention has been focused on the learning potential from international perspectives and experiences for a resource efficient world.

Presentations and photos of the conference are available on the conference website.

Discussions and comments on the ERF can be found on Twitter under the hashtag #2016ERF.
