The World Resources Forum 2011 held in Davos, Switzerland, focused on policy means for Shaping the Future of our Natural Resources and charted ways Towards a Green Economy. R. Andreas Kraemer of Ecologic Institute moderated the workshop on the Design and Implementation of Efficient Resource Policies covering good and best practice in industry and policy implementation.

The workshop discussed policy options and concrete policy approaches (including good practice examples) aiming at improving the governance of natural resources. The resource policies were related to various traditional policy areas (e.g. environmental policy, science, technology and innovation policy, trade policy etc.) and different levels of decision-making (international, national, regional, urban, and in industry). The discussion addressed the roles and potential synergies between the different policy areas and levels in pursuing effective resource policies. The workshop yielded concrete policy recommendations for the final declaration of the World Resources Forum 2011.
