This infographic evaluates the information on the type of fish protection systems at the sites listed in the Atlas of Fish Protection & Downstream Fish. Fish protection systems are differentiated by trash rack, fish-protecting turbine, fish-protecting turbine operation, scouring facility, capture and transport measure, and other fish protection facilities. Screens – such as horizontal, vertical, and roller screens – are the most frequently mentioned fish protection device in the atlas. Vertical screens (36) have the most entries, followed by horizontal screens (32). The infographic is part of a fact sheet on fish protection and downstream fish migration measures.
