In the face of lower CO2 emissions prices, there are currently discussions about whether new coal-fired power plants will be built in the future. In this context, some have suggested implementing new measures to support emissions trading. Currently, the focus is on specific CO2 emissions limits. Similar measures have already been implemented in the United Kingdom and the United States.

The goal of this event is to discuss international experiences with CO2 emissions limits for power plants, as well as questions about implementation in Germany. The event will be held with a select group of participants and will be under Chatham House Rules, in order to allow for an open discussion. In this case, the presentations will be given in German, but of course we still welcome input in the discussion round in both English and German.
