An important issue with regard to the Middle and Eastern European enlargement of the European Union is the development of environmental infrastructures. The EU promotes this process, e.g., with the financing programme ISPA. For German enterprises, this provides new business opportunities. Therefore, Ecologic organizes this seminar, informing the respective businesses about existing challenges and risks.

Engineering businesses and environment technology companies that wish to work in the Accession Countries tend to be small- and medium-sized enterprises. Their human and financial resources for the preparation of foreign businesses are often very limited. Moreover, a lack of sufficient knowledge on criteria for gaining support from EU financing programmes and the Accession Countries form barriers for entering these markets.
