On the occasion of a delegation visit of water experts and environmental activists from Korea to the Berlin Water Works on 26 October 2004, Ecologic Fellows Britta Pielen and Nicole Kranz spoke about the German water sector, current developments in EU water policy as well as public participation in water management.
Participants of the meeting convened by the Berlin Centre of Competence for Water were representatives from the Water Resources Research Department at the Korea Institute of Construction Technology (KICT), the Korea Water Resources Corporation, the Korea Federation for the Environmental Movement, the NGO Green Future as well as the Citizens' Movement for Environmental Justice.
The meeting provided a platform for a lively discussion about the prerequisites for a sustainable water resource management.
