Two teams of Ecologic Institute participated in the 2011 Berliner Wasserbetriebe 5x5 km team relay. In ideal running conditions, team "Ecologic Institute Washington DC" completed the 25 km through Berlin's Tiergarten in 1:52:02, finishing as 258th in a field of more than 4,200 teams.
Ecologic's second team "Ecologic Institute Berlin" came in in 1:59:09, ranking 655th and thus in the top fifth of all starting teams. The teams continued the strong performance of previous years, completing the course faster than any of Ecologic's teams in the past. The race took place on Friday, 24 June 2011. The five-kilometer-loop through the Tiergarten park in the centre of Berlin had to be completed five times, running past the Reichstag, the Federal Chancellory and the Siegessäule.
