Only those who sometimes make others uncomfortable are useful. Environmental protection needs strong partners who dare to speak up when, despite many promises and good intentions, eco-policy hits a dead end. After the eco-political decades of change that saw the first environmental laws and after consolidation through an increase in scientific knowledge, the capacity to regulate and the sectoralisation especially of climate policy, an overview of these complex issues is needed now more than ever before. The more people that are working to support nature and the environment, the more an overview and orientation become necessary nationally and internationally, practically and methodologically, with regards to both content and communication as well as to administration and markets. Backgrounds in political form: this is what I view as Ecologic Institute’s strength and in that I wish Ecologic Institute much success in the future.
