Many municipalities are increasingly confronted with the effects of climate change, e.g. in the form of heat and drought stress or heavy rainfall events. In order to address these challenges in a long-term and sustainable manner, numerous municipalities in Germany have already adopted climate adaptation concepts. Some of these concepts also include nature-based solutions, such as multifunctional green spaces or building greening, which can achieve a buffering effect during heavy rainfall events or a cooling effect in densely built-up inner cities as part of water-conscious urban development. In addition to climate adaptation, such nature-based solutions can offer further benefits, such as the promotion of biodiversity.

But how can corresponding nature-based measures be meaningfully integrated into climate adaptation concepts? What opportunities does integration offer, and what are the challenges in practice?

We would like to discuss these and other questions in the webinar "Naturally resilient: anchoring nature-based solutions in municipal climate adaptation concepts" together with you and speakers from science, municipal practice and consulting.  The webinar is being organized by Ecologic Institute as part of the ReFoPlan project "Naturally Climate Adaptation! Nature-based solutions for municipalities" on behalf of the Federal Environment Agency.
