Christian Schneider is a Researcher at Ecologic Institute in the fields of agriculture and bioeconomy. His work focuses on socio-ecological transformation, and he conducts research on German and European agricultural policy, climate protection scenarios, agricultural structure as well as matters of sustainability related to biodiversity and planetary health.
At Ecologic Institute, Christian Schneider supports the project Sustainable Subsoil Management as Part of the Bioeconomy (Soil³). There, the focus is on analyzing the market and policy framework as well as policy recommendations for sustainable soil management. Moreover, he works on an EU Commission project on the implementation of the Nitrates Directive in the various EU Member States.
Prior to joining Ecologic Institute, Christian Schneider worked at the Oeko-Institut e.V. from 2021 to 2023 as a research assistant in the Energy & Climate Protection Department of the Biomass Team. From 2015 to 2021, he was a research assistant for a member of the German Bundestag and was responsible for agriculture, forestry, and fisheries policy.
Christian Schneider completed his bachelor's degree in Agricultural Science at the Humboldt University in Berlin with a thesis on "Investigation of the requirements and effects of a low-impact soil cultivation method".
