On 11 December 2013, Christiane Gerstetter of the Ecologic Institute presented the EU-funded project "Climate Change, Hydro-conflicts and Human Security (CLICO)" at the lecture series "Die Umwelt als Konfliktfeld" at the Technical University of Dresden. In CLICO, the Ecologic Institute was the leader of one work package conducting a policy analysis and giving policy recommendations. The presentation is available for download.

The lecture series of the winter semester 2013/14 focused on environmental conflicts. Speakers included members of research institutes and NGOs, focusing on environmental conflicts, the actors in these conflicts and instruments for solving them.

Christiane Gerstetter presented the main objectives, research outcomes and policy recommendations of the CLICO project that dealt, among others, with the impact of climate change on water conflicts in the Mediterranean, the Middle East and the Sahel zone to students. She focused on the work of the Ecologic Institute on the analysis of international, national and regional policies for dealing with hydro-climatic hazards and adaptation with a view to security. She also gave an insight into the work on EU-funded research projects in general and the challenges and difficulties of working with an international research consortium.
