In addition to sustainable finance products, the dialogue also addressed the importance of sustainable finance products in ratings.

Reviewing market developments, the participants noted current and projected future growth in socially responsible investments and sustainable investments, as a consequence of both, new investors moving into the field, and out-performance of such investments over conventional investments.

The challenge of Deutsche Bank is to ensure its position in the segment by building appropriate criteria into core business (lending, credit risk management, exclusionary criteria for own investments), developing new products, training sales staff and future leaders in the bank, and ensuring transparency about long-term incentives and their alignment with sustainable development.
