Ecologic Institute

Dr Ingmar von Homeyer is a Senior Fellow at Ecologic Institute and heads the Ecologic Institute representation in Brussels. His main areas of expertise are EU environmental policy and governance, the integration of environmental concerns into sectoral policies (environmental policy integration), EU enlargement, regulatory reform, the external dimension of EU environmental policy, and biotechnology regulation policy.  He works in German and English and possesses good knowledge of Dutch, Italian, French, and Swedish.

Ingmar von Homeyer's current projects deal with various aspects of environmental policy integration, emerging trends in EU environmental governance, regulatory reform, and related aspects of EU external environmental policy. Ingmar von Homeyer worked on many other areas of environmental policy and European intergration, inter alia, on issues of flexible/differentiated integration, the Treaty basis for EU environmental policy, the interaction between European and international norms in environmental and trade policy, sustainability assessment of trade agreements, the precautionary principle, as well as issues of public participation in EU environmental policy, and the emergence of a European public sphere.  Ingmar von Homeyer has published widely on these issues in academic and policy-oriented publications.
