On 2nd December 2015, Dr. Josselin Rouillard, Fellow at Ecologic Institute, together with Dr. Alistair Hunt from the University of Bath, gave a presentation at the ECONADAPT side event at COP21/CMP11 in Paris. The presentation slides are available for download.

Josselin Rouillard and Alistair Hunt gave an overview of the EU-funded ECONADAPT research project on the Economics of Adaptation including methodological developments and case studies on key areas of EU decision-making – economic project appraisal, policy appraisal, identifying macroeconomic effects, overseas development aid and disaster risk management. The results of the review on the costs and benefits of adaptation were presented, including an overview of evidence, lessons and policy insights.

The ECONADAPT side event was part of the series of event at the European Pavilion of COP21/CMP11 focusing on resilience. The ECONADAPT project aims to provide user-orientated methodologies and evidence relating to economic appraisal criteria, in order to inform the choice of adaptation actions. The project works with stakeholders from relevant DGs, Member States, Regional and local policymakers. Detailed guidance and empirical data are being provided to other economists, as well as to other users who may want to use 'light-touch' methods.
