Senior Event Manager
Stefanie Wurm is Senior Event Manager and has been working at Ecologic Institute’s Events Team since 2003. Currently, Stefanie Wurm is taking up parental leave.
From 2008 to 2010, as Head of the Events Team Stefanie Wurm has been responsible for the continuously optimizing and strategic development of the team as well as the quality and cost control. Besides the conceptual planning and the professional implementation of events, Stefanie Wurm is also entrusted with the project acquisition of events. She works in German and English and speaks Vietnamese and Spanish.
Stefanie Wurm collaborates closely with clients and partners, handling all aspects of the conceptual planning, organization, and on-site coordination required. She ensures successful workshops, symposia and conferences or Dinner Dialogues, documentary film premieres and visitors' programs tailored to meet the needs of targeted audiences.
Before joining Ecologic Institute, Stefanie Wurm worked as assistant to the head of the Berlin Office of WWF Germany. In 2002, she assisted the GTZ (German Technical Co-operation) in organizing the International Alpine Convention Conference. From 2000 to 2003, she worked as a freelancer for the ask!-agentur UG (Agency on Seminars and Communication) in the field of event organization. During her two years stay in Vietnam from 1998 to 1999, Stefanie Wurm was committed to the German Development Service (DED) and worked as a freelancer for the WWF Indochina Programme.
Stefanie Wurm studied and earned her degree in both Geography and Southeast Asian Studies at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Germany) and Vietnamese in Hanoi. Her studies focused on the area of eco-tourism, nature conservation, and development co-operation. Her master's thesis addressed the potential of community-based tourism as an instrument of rural development in the mountain region of Northern Vietnam.
