The Special Theme Day "Taste of the Future of the Seas" on 21 May 2017 will offer a number of activities on the topics of seas and oceans and sustainable consumption for all age groups.

The project "Taste of the Future of the Seas" is part of the Science Year 2016*17 – Seas and Oceans, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research, and addresses the challenges and opportunities for sustainable use of marine ecosystems in an active and engaging way. At the Theme Day, the "Science Corner" will grant participants the chance to discuss scientific findings with real experts. It will also be possible to tour the museum's exciting exhibits for free. An info booth on oceans and seas will offer the chance to experiment and to do actual research. Children and adults will have the opportunity to experience the oceans up close in the museum's centre for microscopy.

Culinary partners Küstlichkeiten and Bone.Berlin will serve street food snacks made from sustainable seafood to inspire participants.

Location: Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, Invalidenstr. 43, 10115 Berlin
The theme day will last from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The standard entree fees of the Museum für Naturkunde apply.

All events in the project "Taste of the Future of the Seas" are in German.
