In this project Umweltbundesamt Wien, the Research Institute for Managing Sustainability (RIMAS) and Ecologic Institute jointly support the Committee of the Regions in the process of stakeholder contribution to produce an Outlook Opinion on the review of the targets contained in European Waste legislation.

The project reviews the current state of waste targets contained in the Waste Framework Directive, the Landfill Directive and the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive and the instruments implemented for the achievement of these targets. Within the project 23 case studies will compiled to document current best practices of local and regional waste management.
